Flight analysis

Drop an IGC and we replay the track, segment thermals and glides, and compare against your own history.

Importing flights

You can import flights one at a time or bulk-upload a season at once. Bulk imports queue server-side — you can leave the page and come back; the planner shows the import status and lets you resume.

Thermals and glides

We segment the track into thermals (sustained climb) and glides (transition between climbs). Each thermal exposes average and peak climb rate, gain, and duration. Each glide exposes distance, average speed, and an L/D estimate.

These figures are derived from your IGC sample rate. Low-rate trackers smooth out short bursts; the replay surfaces the assumed sample interval so you don't over-interpret edge cases.

Personal records & achievements

Records are computed from your history — longest flight, biggest XC distance, best climb, longest glide. Achievements unlock from the same source. Nothing here is leaderboard-driven unless you explicitly opt in via segments.

Public segments (opt-in)

Segments are shared timed sections (e.g., a ridge run, a triangle leg). Submitting an effort to a public segment publishes that effort only — the rest of your flight stays private. See /segments for the public segment catalog.

Privacy

  • Flights are private by default.
  • Bulk imports never auto-publish.
  • Publishing a flight or a segment effort is an explicit per-flight action, never a setting.

What flight analysis does not do

  • It does not certify or grade your flying.
  • It does not estimate weather conditions retroactively beyond what the IGC contains.
  • It does not detect airspace violations as a compliance source — use it as an indicator and follow up officially.
